1 Book for 300 kids! 😱 Announcing The Marble Jar of Giving!

1 Book for 300 kids! 😱 Announcing The Marble Jar of Giving!

When the jar was full, we would have a party! That’s the way we rolled in my fourth grade class, and it felt awesome to cause a marble to fall into the jar with a satisfying “clink!” 🔵

                                                                     🟡

                                                            🟠

So, when we brainstormed meaningful and sustainable ways to give back, tracking progress with a marble jar came right to my mind.

We’ve talked a lot about the importance of home libraries for children’s future success. There’s no official ideal number, but the more books, the better.

Unfortunately, children in low income neighborhoods have access to as little as 0.003 books. That’s right, some low income neighborhoods have an alarming ratio: 1 age appropriate book for every 300 children!

We’d like to do something about that.

Knowing the power that access to relevant and age appropriate books has to fight illiteracy, we’ve engineered a way for you to give back by adding a marble to our virtual jar with every single order.

When that jar is full, we send a party–a Book Party! 📗 What is a book party? A box filled to the brim with brand new books, and sent to a domestic non-profit that is fighting illiteracy. Imagine how an entire box of books could improve the odds for even just one of these neighborhoods!

Right now, we’re filling a jar for Spread the Word, a non-profit in Nevada that is making a true difference. You can learn more about Spread the Word Nevada here.

Each marble in the jar adds up to make an immeasurable impact in the life of the very children we’ve discussed.

So, when you place an order with us, not only will you receive beautiful books that let kids be kids, complete with messages that inspire, but you give that same gift to a child in need as well.

And that will make a real difference.

Warm regards,

Miriam Monette

P.S. If placing an order isn’t in the cards for you right now, consider donating gently used books from your own library to a similar non-profit near you. 🥰
